Sofie Sarenbrant is a Swedish crime fiction author who was born on October 18, 1978, in Täby, Stockholm. She started writing as a teenager and published her first book, "Stalker" in 2011, which was a critical and commercial success.

Since then, she has written several books in the Emma Sköld series, which follows the life of a detective inspector in Stockholm. Her works have been translated into several languages and have sold over a million copies in Sweden alone.

In addition to writing, Sarenbrant is a trained journalist who had worked as a crime reporter before embarking on her career as an author. She has also worked as an editor and producer for Swedish television and radio.
